Brutti Buoni are Traditional Cookies of Tuscany. “Brutti Buoni” means “Ugly but Good”: Tradition would like them ugly, but behind their appearance, there is a very pleasant taste, which is that of toasted hazelnuts. Egg white and sugar give the friability and meltiness of a meringue, which makes them very delicate. They are perfect with Vin Santo and dessert wines or hot chocolate, and to prepare a quick but refined dessert, they can be combined with fresh fruit and whipped cream.
